York Visual Art Professor Brandon Vickerd’s large scale metal sculpture/installation Chrome Ghost/ Apeshit is on view at Thunder Bay’s Definitely Superior Art Gallery March 28 to April 25, 2015. Playing with pop-culture references, Vickerd highlights our nostalgia for a past when science held the promise of a limitless future, and not the strange and often frightening world we find ourselves living in today. He uses sculpture as a catalyst for critical thought, enriching the viewer’s engagement with the physical world through the creation of spectacle.
