Professor Brandon Vickerd of the Visual Art and Art History Department is presenting a new commissioned installation at Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex as part of Possible Futures: What is to be done? the Windsor-Essex Triennial of Contemporary Art running October 4, 2014 to January 11, 2015. Kiki Athanassiadis, Patrick Cull, Svava Thordis Juliusson and Laura Moore, all graduates of York’s MFA Program in Visual Arts, are also included in the exhibition at the Art Gallery of Windsor.The Triennial brings together emerging and established artists to explore automotive and industrial legacies, agricultural and food-based economies, built and natural environments to present innovative, playful and participatory propositions for cultivating possible sustainable futures.The curatorial panel for the exhibition includes York alumni Srimoyee Mitra (MA ’08), curator of Contemporary Art at AGW, Melissa Bennett (MA ’07)), curator of Contemporary Art at the Art Gallery of Hamilton, Stuart Reid (BFA ’86), director/curator of Rodman Hall Art Centre, and artist Lucy Howe (MFA ’07).
